Belbèze

Belbèze, which means " beautiful view " in occitan, the language of the minstrel, is situated on a rise facing Lautrec, classed amongst " des plus beaux villages de France ".

As far as your eye can see there are valleys and woods. Each year in the fields which surround us you can find sunflowers, wheat or the famous pink garlic. In the distance just as in a painting, the cattle graze peacefully.

To develop, Pastel needed a very rich ground, better if limestone and argillaceous.

In  addition to that, in our area, cool and rainy winters followed by sunny summers were very beneficial to the plant.

Ther well known "Pays de Cocagne" is linked to the "coques", plant treatment step that allow to exrtact the dyeing.
